Calm, smart Obinze had would have liked to join her, however with post-9/11 America closed to him, he rather dives into a risky, undocumented life in London. After fifteen years, they rejoin in a recently democratic Nigeria, and reignite their passion for one another and for their country.

Half of a Yellow Sun is a novel by Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie published in 2006. The book tells the story of the Biafran War through the viewpoint of the characters Olanna, Ugwu, and Richard. Adichie interlaces together the lives of three characters swept up in the instability of the era.

While reading the play there was a feeling of ambivalence towards the theme of the play. The play, although intense, will give you a calm feeling as if you are a kid reading your favorite story book.
