Ireke Onibudo is a Yoruba literature novel that narrates the life of a man name who shares the same name as the book. In this book, Ireke is a regular man who is looking for the significance of life like the majority of us. It follows his peculiar however exciting journey from beggar to Oba (King). By self control, moral restraint and sheer favorable luck, he wins over misfortune to turn into a commended warlord and honorable man. His story runs alongside by a tale told by his dead mother.

Written by Okon E Essien and published in Ibadan: Daystar Press, 1986. The Ibibio people are people found in southern Nigeria. They are frequently found in Akwa Ibom and Cross River. They are associated with the Annang, and Efik people.
